Police arrest Trevor Nelson for assault, robbery at Walmart

Trevor Nelson was arrested Sunday and charged with robbery and assault for an incident at happened in a Walmart restroom last week.

Dec. 4, 2017 – Police arrested a Dunlap man Sunday, Dec. 3, for attacking and robbing another man in a restroom at the Dunlap Walmart.  According to Dunlap Police Chief Clint Huth, Mario Lawrence, Jr., 20, of Dunlap, went into the men's room at Walmart about 4:15 p.m. Monday, Nov. 27. Trevor Nelson, 19, also of Dunlap, reportedly followed Lawrence into the restroom.

(Nelson) shoved the victim against the wall, hitting him,” Chief Huth said Monday. “During the altercation, he took $225 from the victim's pants pocket and left the scene before officers arrived.”

Walmart employees called police to report a fight at the store, and when officers arrived an employee of the store corroborated Lawrence's account of the assault.

City police officers arrested Nelson on warrants for assault and robbery Sunday morning at Valley View Garden Apartments on TN 28 south.

Nelson was booked into the Sequatchie County Jail, where he later bonded out.
