July 10, 2019 – A Signal Mountain man died Tuesday night in a traffic accident on US 127, less than two weeks before his 33rd birthday.

Officers were dispatched at 9:28 p.m. July 9 to US 127, near East Valley Road, for a three-vehicle accident. Andy Clark, of 185 Barker Cir., Signal Mountain, was pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Sgt. William B. Harmon, of the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), Clark was driving a 1991 Toyota pickup truck northbound on US 127 when he crossed over the center line, striking a Dodge pickup in the other lane driven by Joshua Henderson, 30, of a Chattanooga address.

Both trucks spun off the north side of the roadway, Sgt. Harmon said.

A third truck traveling southbound on US 127 hit the debris from the accident, which caused it to wreck. The third vehicle was a Chevy pickup driven by Ralph Green, 65, of 166 Barker Lamb Rd., Dunlap.

Green was transported to Erlanger in Chattanooga by Puckett EMS ambulance, with non-life threatening injuries.

Henderson and his wife, Melea Henderson, 20, were not seriously injured, Harmon said.

Clark's next-of-kin have been notified.

The THP is investigating the accident. The Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department, Dunlap Police Department, Dunlap Fire Department, and the Sequatchie County Rescue Squad also responded to the scene.
