Carson arrested, charged with assault, meth possession

June 11, 2019 – Lloyd Greg Carson, 49, of Dunlap, was arrested June 10 and charged with domestic assault, burglary, assault, and possession of Schedule II narcotics.

According to the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched to 50 Rock Haven Lane at 4:55 a.m. Monday when Carson was reported trying to break into his girlfriend's home in the Cartwright community.

The victim said a man was trying to get in the house, making threats, pounding on the door, and cursing,” Detective Jody Lockhart reported. “He attempted to enter the house by pushing in the air conditioning unit.”

Carson also attempted to break in the woman's car, Lockhart said.

He was trying to flee as officers arrived,” he added.

Deputy Aaron Allen arrested Carson and upon searching him found what is believed to be a quantity of methamphetamine on his person.

Other charges are pending, Det. Lockhart stated.
