Woman suffers "substantial" injuries in mower accident

May 15, 2019 – A Georgia woman who was in Sequatchie County today was helping family members with some yard work when she suffered injuries from a lawnmower running over her foot.

According to Detective Paul Howard, the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department (SCSD) was dispatched at 10 a. m. today to an address on SR 28 in the Daus Community. They found a woman injured by a zero-turn riding mower running over her left foot.

The riding mower slid on a hill,” Det. Howard said. “She lost control and fell or jumped off the mower. Her foot went under the mower deck.”

Det. Howard said the woman “sustained substantial injuries to her left foot.”

Officers administered first aid until Puckett EMS arrived, which transported the woman to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga.
