Master Gardeners, Extension to host Plant Propagation Class

March 4, 2019 – The Sequatchie Valley Master Gardeners and UT Extension will be hosting a Propagation Class March 9. This class is open to the public.

The speaker, Carol Mathews, is an accomplished master gardener, speaker, and leader for the Hamilton County Master Gardeners. She has presented numerous classes in the Chattanooga area, the Master Gardeners state convention, and the Master Gardeners International convention. She will be here to share her expertise and passion for propagation.

Gardening is the production of food, flowers, shrubs, or trees. Propagation is the art of producing more of any plant from the parent plant. It is the key to having more plants in the landscape or more food on the table.

There are six basic methods of reproducing plants, and Carol will show us which methods work with which plants. This is a tool that any real gardener needs in their tool kit.

Please join us on Saturday, March 9, at 10 a.m. at the Dunlap United Methodist Church, 1958 Main St., Dunlap.

Contact the UT Extension Sequatchie County office at 423-949-2611 to reserve your information packet for the program.
