Jackson man killed in motorcycle wreck on Cagle Mountain

Sept. 3, 2018 – A 69-year-old man from Jackson, Tenn., was killed Friday, Aug. 31, when the motorcycle on which he was riding left the roadway at about 4:16 p.m., hitting a guard rail.

George Balcewicz was traveling southbound on TN 111 on a Honda Goldwing, coming down Cagle Mountain about a half-mile south of Cagle Knob Road when the single-vehicle accident occurred, according to the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department.

He lost control, hitting the guard rail and was slung off,” Detective Jason Harvey said.

Balcewicz was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
