Feb. 10, 2018 – Late Friday night, emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene of a one-car accident at the intersection of Tram Trail and Williams Road. Firefighters found the car upside-down in a ditch, and used the Jaws of Life to remove the driver's side door and extricate the three people trapped inside.
According to the Dunlap Fire Department, they received assignment at 11:24 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, and Dunlap 1 Rescue and 3 Engine responded to the scene to find a four-door sedan on its top in a drainage culvert.
“Firefighters assured that the vehicle was stable and made contact with the occupants” before working to get them out of the car, according to a fire department spokesman.
Puckett EMS transported one of the occupants of the car to the emergency room with minor injuries.
The Dunlap Police Department is investigating the crash, and the Sequatchie County Sheriff's Department also was on scene to lend assistance.
Dunlap 3 Engine remained on scene while the vehicle was removed from the culvert, after which all units returned to service.
